After the fall, two climbers are recovering, leaving them stranded overnight, hanging on the sheer 6500-foot cliff face on the Yak Peak Summit in Canada.

On Wednesday, August 6, North Shore Rescue confirmed in a Facebook press release that they received an alert at 10:40 PM the previous night

The weather in the area also “deteriorated rapidly, making climbing conditions dangerous”, adding: “Two climbers hung on seat belts on the mountain.”

Officials said the rescue operation included claw helicopters and goggles for night visits.

Tried to reach the climbers several times, but the conditions were “too dangerous” and “the area’s clouds and wildfire smoke complicate flights”.

Due to weather conditions, rescue teams were unable to reach the climbers, causing the helicopter to land at Hope Airport in British Columbia.
