Expert choice
Matt Barrie
Jon Rahm. Reason: Because it’s too easy to choose Scheffler and Rahm is back on the main championship form. He tied for 14th in the Masters and eighth in the PGA Championship. He began to look and reminded us that he was the best player on Earth before the gut defection.
Tory Barron
Scottie Scheffler. Oakmont is known to be a monster designed to chew any golfer. Therefore, it shows that the final champion will need to be the same powerful enemy. I’m going to be with the guy I’ve won in the last four games, with 17 shots in total – because there’s nothing more horrible than Scheffler on the heater.
Michael Collins
Schefler. Say this in miracle – Shefleur has unlimited gloves (gloves) and all the infinite stones. Scotty is inevitable. When USGA set it up, only about eight people could win on this golf course. Scotty is inevitable.
Jeff Darlington
Schefler. We’ve reached our goal with Scheffler, who reminiscent of Tiger Woods – picking him with a trivial cliché that outweighs the desire to think outside the box. Even though Bryson DeChambeau paired well with Oakmont, Scheffler is so good now, so stable now.
Michael Eaves
Sepp Straka. The current Oakmont setting seems to be a reward for the long-standing efforts of the Open, focusing on fairways and the Greens. Straka has been in those aspects of the game so far this season. Dude is precise and confident and has won twice this year. Additionally, five of the last six U.S. Open champions are the main winners for the first time. Looking for straka adds to this trend.
Peter Lawrence-Riddell
Schefler. If it were Scottie with the field, I would choose the field – but that’s not how the exercise works. Part of me doesn’t think anything this It was obvious that once happened to want to pick someone else–I watched the golf part of picking Scotty.
Andy North
Schefler. Win three of the last four. At Oakmont, you have to hit the irons well, who is better than Scottie.
Mark Schrabach
Schefler. Yes, I know, it’s not totally physical, but if the task is to choose a golfer who wants to lift the U.S. Open Trophy on Sunday, how can you go with the others? I chose Rory McIlroy to win the PGA title because of his success at Quail Hollow, and Scheffler once again proved that he was the one to beat. The world’s No. 1 golfer has once again made an incredibly outstanding performance, leading the PGA Tour with nearly every stroke stat from TEE to Green. He also won the 25th place stroke: putter, which should be his weakness. If he was anywhere near the top of Sunday’s rankings, no one would have gasoline like Scotty.
Marty Smith
Schefler. Oakmont is arguably the hardest golf course in the world. It requires incredible accuracy and accuracy. Scottie’s game is so free and so precise that I think it will continue in Oakmont.
Curtis is strange
Schefler. Ranked No. 1 in the world, three of his past four events are one of the toughest courses in the world – Oakmont!
Paolo uggetti
Jon Rahm. I really like what I saw from Ram at the PGA Championship. For the first time since the 2023 Masters, he has re-competed himself, but his game and competitive juices are working together again to produce some very compelling golf balls. His game should have done a great job for Oakmont and I like him being one of the few players who can challenge Scheffler this week.
Scott Van Pelt
Ram. Because someone has to choose a different player than Scotty.

Who is your choice?
David Gordon, ESPN Research
Rory McIlroy (+1200). McIlroy was just the +450 joint favorite at last month’s PGA Championship. Now, due to some equipment issues, he is almost three times the price. I believe Rory can solve these problems and regained the runner-up every year for the past two years.
Pamela Maldonado, betting analyst
Collin Morikawa (+2200). Morikawa has an emotional control and analytical mindset suitable for Oakmont. He started the year with two runner-ups in the first four statistics, namely Sentry and Arnold Palmer, and has since cooled down the top ten since March. He has the construction of solving this course – fourth accuracy, fifth approach. If he kept calm and played his own game, Morikawa played quietly on Sunday, no one would be surprised.
Anita Tags, Betting Analyst
Jon Ram (+1200). Rahm has the perfect long game to succeed in Oakmont. He entered the week in great form and that rich magic is back! He told me that he could achieve that in the Masters T-14 and the PGA Championship T-8. Rahm leads Liv in the green green of regulatory percentages, which is a very important indicator on this track.
Who is your favorite bet in the top 10?
Gordon: Xander Schauffele (+210).
I tend to have a mediocre season form in history with Schauffele’s spectacular game, and I don’t think we’ll see him often in the future. He has seven top ten in his eight careers at the U.S. Open, and the T-14 is his worst career result (2022).
Maldonado: Keegan Bradley (+475)
Golf games are about trusting your swing. Bradley has trust with back-to-back top ten and aggressive putts. Bradley is a high-quality ball hitter with a surprising surrounding green. Putting was the most turbulent aspect of his game, but Bradley’s huge ceiling was definitely high enough to win.
What is your favorite Scottie Scheffler Bet?
Gordon: Complete the 1st round of the top 10 (+150)).
The past 11 major rounds (91%) date back to mid-year, Schaffler has been in the top ten. In each of the past four opens, nine of the last 11 have been in the top ten after 18 holes.
Maldonado: Complete the first round in the top 10 (+150))
In the third tour of the first round of scoring, Schefler surpassed the elite of the high jump. Scottie split his strokes to get the numbers, his game was the best, his irons and irons were at their best against Tee tee-Green in the first round, averaged 3.98 totals, and at least a full 1.5 shot compared to the rest of the three rounds. He started to heat up and then stayed firm for the rest of the process.
Who is your favorite long shot/value bet?
Gordon: Cameron Young: (+10000)
After four rulings that started five times, Young scored a T-4 in the Open at RBC Canada and finished seventh in three Truist Championship’s Truist Championship’s Truist Championship. He has a lot of significant championship experience and success, with five top 10 between the 2022 PGA and the 2024 Masters.
Maldonado: Keegan Bradley wins (+7500)
Putting and scrambling are red flags, but his close range and hitting floor is huge. His table has peaked in the last two starts. He is now a comprehensive tee monster, second in the last 32 rounds. If you want someone who wins with longer odds, he will belong to your card.
Are there any other bets that stand out for you?
Gordon: Layouts: Tommy Fleetwood and Harris English (-104)
English is in the middle of his career and never misses his nine career layoffs at the U.S. Open. Fleetwood hasn’t missed any advancements this season, and hasn’t even exceeded 40 to 36 holes in the last 11 games. I put the two together comfortably!
Maldonado: Scottie Scheffler Top 5 (-140)
The juice is steep, but may even be underestimated. Of the 31 starts since January 2024, Schaffler has finished the top five in 19 of them, including 10 victories. Unlike most markets with large juice volumes, this market has data that supports it. Scheffler is not shaken, rarely posting bad rounds, and even with a cold putt, his hit keeps him on top
Tyler Fulghum: Dustin Johnson misses layoffs (-120)
DJ won the U.S. Open in Oakmont in 2016, which really feels like a lifetime. Since moving to LIV in 2022, Johnson hasn’t even come close to the fight in big competition. His best in 10 major starts since 2023 was the T-31, which won last year’s Open Champion. He missed five advancements, including this year’s Masters and PGA champions.
Tags: McIlroy misses layoffs (+290)
McIlroy hasn’t been the same golfer since winning the Masters. He scored 78 in the second round of the Canadian Open, and he was underperformed at Quail Hollow. His driver release is a real thing, and his steel is not outstanding. Has he lost his hunger after winning the Grand Slam? possible.
Tags: Ludvig Aberg Top 20 (+155) and Top Nordic Golfers (+190)
Aberg is close to winning the Canadian Open and I believe we have gained good value here to get him plus money in the top 20. He drives the ball like a tour, with the past five rounds in the 60s.
Tags: Sepp Straka Top 20 (+170)
Straka’s career year – He finished third in the Memorial Championships and won twice this season on the Tour. He has the potential to dominate the course with the advantage of batting. Straka ranks first in the regulations, fourth serving area, second stroke, gains: top 10 in approach and driving accuracy
