9-year-old boy in electronic driving car with younger brother in Korea

A 9-year-old boy was killed and his brother was injured Thursday when they were hit by a drunk driver in South Korea while riding an electronic driver.

The LAPD said in a press release that the LAPD told the report that the unidentified driver of the RV drove south on New Hampshire Avenue and turned left to Fourth Street when his vehicle collided with the brothers.

Medical staff arrived at the scene and determined that the 9-year-old boy was identified as Nadir Gavarrete and died at the scene due to injury. His brother was taken to the hospital, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The unidentified RV driver remained on the scene and was arrested for suspected driving under the influence. LAPD said no other reports of injuries and the incident is under investigation.
