The Philippines Supreme Court has not rejected the improper case against Vice President Sara Duterte in March, contrary to rumors circulating on social media. The false post misrepresented a news report about the South Korean Constitutional Court reinstatement of Prime Minister Han Duck-soo as head of state after months of political turmoil.

“Vice President of Breaking News Sara won the victory,” he covered the Catalogue language on a Facebook video shared on March 26, 2025.

Its title further states: “The Supreme Court has already filed a complaint against the vice president (sic) of impropriety each.”

It shows a news anchor who said “five-eighth district judges” agreed to dismiss the impeachment case against public officials, who did not mention its name in the entire 25-second clip of a minute.

Vice President Duterte was impeached by the House of Representatives in early February for “breach of constitutional violations, betrayal of public trust, grafting and corruption, and other high crimes”.

Her family is caught in a fierce dispute with President Ferdinand Marcos, who was an ally and Duterte campaign companion in the 2022 presidential election, who won the victory in the landslide.

Her Senate trial will take place after the May 12 midterm elections, with the result set to determine who serves as a juror. If convicted, the vice president will be barred from public office.
