Sagstrom beats Coughlin in the match

North Las Vegas, Nevada – Madelene Sagstrom ended more than five years of LPGA Tour victory drought, overcame a four-hole lead in difficult Shadow Creek in the final of the T-Mobile match game on Sunday.
Sagstrom stayed ahead by par on 16 holes in 5. Kuflin made a double bogey on Constellation.
It’s a suitable match for the 67th-ranked champions when the world’s top players fall down to each other during a picturesque but harsh process. Another Swedes win was on the 2020 Boca Rio’s Gainbridge LPGA.
The final game entered the 18th Green Competition for the first time.
In the 32-year-old battle, Sagstrom took a four-hole lead after just six holes, when Coughlin boo 2, the Swedes started three consecutively from 4th.
Couglin claims five of the next six holes lead. Even though she did her role with a pair of birdies, Kuflin didn’t have to do anything spectacular either, as Sagstrom combed three bogeys and two doubles during that time.
Coughlin then ranked 13 in the third shot, while Sagstrom scored the game average, which is where the game was until the 16th.
Neither player was away from the hardship and Cufflin even twice from the same position after the ball rolled back to her. Coughlin’s 30-foot putt was past, and Coughlin finally admitted the hole, with double bogey bringing Sagstrom back to the lead.
Coughlin, who ranked 17th, has been a tough all-tournament. She played at least 18 holes in each game, with a total of 127, while 72 in the traditional stroke game. Coughlin won the first two games with three points, including a defeat of Ariya Jutanugarn in the semifinals on Sunday morning.
Sagstrom was pushed to its limit, too.
She survived 16 games against Carlota Ciganda on Saturday and then had to wait for more than two hours as Celine Boutier and Ashleigh Buhai played over 28 holes in the 28-hole match. Then, when Sagstrom and Boutier were tied to 17 in the dark, the race became another marathon of one race. The match was suspended and Sagstrom finished his 19th-hole quarterfinal victory in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Sagstrom then ranked 12th Angel Yin 4 and 2 in the semifinals.
Coughlin is seeking her first win since the Scottish Open in August. Last year, Charlottesville, Virginia residents had two career wins.
