“Love on the Spectrum” star, Waymo collaborates on new autism acceptance month video

Waymo, an autonomous driving technology company, with driverless ride stocks taking over major U.S. cities, is celebrating with everyone’s favorite wholesome show: Netflix’s “Celebrating Autism Acceptance Month” Love on the spectrum.

In the latest episode drive – Waymo’s celebrity video series is hosted by TV celebrity Andrew Freund – the company has attracted attention for the show’s recent hit season star Connor Tomlinson, as he hitchhiked in Waymo. “In a fully autonomous car, it’s really shocking,” Tomlinson told Flund. “It reminds me of that scene Jurassic Park. ”

In the second episode of the second season of the video series, Waymo brings the national nonprofit Autism Association. The organization says that autonomous vehicles can be a tool for greater independence among individuals in autistic communities, thus providing a “consistent, safe and predictable” model in the often hostile areas of transportation. According to recent research, only one-third of qualifying autistic teenagers with a driver’s license.

The transportation of autistic society in the United States is a critical barrier to the independence and well-being of many in the autistic community, limiting access to employment, health care, support services, and social connections. “Many people with autism rely on caregivers or public transportation – systems that can be overwhelming, complex or unreliable. These challenges can significantly limit a person’s autonomy and self-determination. ”
