Samsung Odyssey 3D feels like it’s novel, but it’s still cute

If I’m going to defend one thing, it’s the 3D effect of the Nintendo 3DS. My clumsy 3D sliders and picky viewing angles stayed on the older handheld board when all my friends loved the 2DS. Now that I’m all grown up, I’m getting along with eyeless faux 3D on Samsung’s Odyssey 3D display. For an IPS display with 3D effects, it costs up to two high-end OLED monitors.
The basic pitch of the Samsung 3D monitor is, for $2,000, and you can also sit in front of the screen, making certain images bigger in some games than they would on traditional displays. We’ve seen Odyssey 3D in action in Samsung’s last two CES Tech displays, but the company invited me to make the pace of the display smoothly in a more laid back atmosphere. There is a range of interesting technologies behind the features of Odyssey 3D, even if the specifications seem to be very basic. Behind the 27-inch, 165 Hz 4K IPS LCD panel, the monitor uses two eye-tracking cameras. This means that no matter which perspective you look at it, you will never be without 3D effects.
It seems like we’re back to the days when companies like Samsung push concepts for 3D LCD TVS (long after TV manufacturers largely abandoned the concept of a decade). Now we live in an era where every major monitor manufacturer is promoting $1,000+ 4K, 240 Hz QD-OLED displays. I’ve used Alienware’s recent rendition and now Samsung itself has the Odyssey Oled G81SF for pre-order, for $1,300. I sat in front of the new G8 and enjoyed the dark black and relatively glare-resistant screen, but it was hard to care about that screen when the 3D monitor screamed “Keep going, try me.”
Getting 3D pictures in the game is not as easy as a plugin. The device requires users to go through Samsung’s real hub application, which you need to install separately on your PC. Here is a game launcher with 12 featured titles that can support these 3D effects on startup. Currently, the list of supported games includes: Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, p, palworld’s lie, Psychological Ruler 2, Little Nightmare II, SpongeBob SquarePants: Universe Shake, Like Dragon: Ishin, Fist: and Khazan: The first Berzerker. Samsung told me they intend to add more to the list in the near future, including some older titles such as “Authoritative Edition” Great Theft Automatic III pass San Andreas.
Characters and objects in these games are highlighted from the screen without the weird colors you get from the 3D glasses in the cinema. The intensity of Odyssey 3D is its dedicated keyboard shortcut to control “3D depth” and “3D windows”. Together, these influence the severity of the 3D effect. Sitting just from the length of the screen, something higher than the middle setting can create an unpleasant, painful experience, and the character feels like it is occupying my eyes.
Samsung specializes in Khazan: The First Beater Make the game’s 3D effect popular. In that soul, the falling snow whipped up your head from the screen, while my character’s yawning wound sprayed blood and sprayed in a satisfying, almost satisfying cellular shadow depth. Immersive is not the right word to play with 3D effects. Instead, 3D novelty enhances the stylized sensibility of games with flatter textures and brighter colors. 3D effects are more consistent SpongeBob Its bright colors are better than in the soft mud GTA: San Andreas.
The monitor costs $2,000 and requires more than just 3D effects in a few games. The expensive Odyssey does allow you to access 3D-like effects when viewing certain 2D content on your monitor, but it won’t work on protected content via Netflix or other streaming applications. It does make some images pop up slightly when watching videos on YouTube. This is a good effect and it won’t be distracted. With space audio built in dual speakers, the showcase could be a better way to watch trailers for upcoming movies than average, or to camp with his kids in Alaska.
Recently, I’ve experienced a similar concept from Lenovo, but it’s a curved speed monitor. However, I don’t like it that much. I think the 27 inches is the right size to make the 3D effect popular without being too overwhelming. Nintendo 3DS returns to the first iteration of the day, which has problems with strange angles in 3D, but works well in Nintendo’s colorful first-party games. Nintendo took some time to build the library, and even then the company lowered its prices after low emissivity. You need a lot of game support to make a 3D effect impact, and Samsung’s current trivial choice and huge asking price means it will be a tough sell, no matter how many 3DS fans have.
