Ingrid Lindblad launches 63, Los Angeles champion at LPGA

LOS ANGELES – Ingrid Lindblad took the lead at El Caballero Country Club’s weekend at the fourth start of his rookie season.
Lindblad hit the highest in cool conditions with 63, the highest hit rate under 63, joining Ashleigh Buhai on the JM Eagle La Championship with 131 under 131 shots.
“I think if you put the work in, it’s like it will eventually come,” said Lindblad, a 25-year-old former LSU star from Sweden. “Obviously, it’s hard to tell exactly when it will come out, but obviously, I feel like I’ve been working in my golf game and I need to be better. After a day like this, it shows it’s paid off.”
As the temperature rose to the 60s on the cloudy day only, Lindblad had 10 birdies and bogeys in the first 14 holes. She ruled the last four.
“I think my reading is very good,” Lindbrad said. “It’s not just like playing football on par. It’s a 10-foot, 17-foot player. I’m very good at reading. I thought I was on the green very good. In fact, there was only one putt that escaped me and I made three points.”
Buhai took the lead for the second day after playing against Yan Liu at the age of 63. The 35-year-old South African player beat the final five holes in 68 games on Friday.
After 65 in the morning, Minjee Lee was under 12 years old. She won the 2019 Championship at Wilhill Country Club.
“I think it’s just the right place on the tee, obviously just hitting the good iron on the green,” Lee said. “Some greens are a little bigger and have bigger landing points.”
The competition is being held in El Caballero due to the renovation of Wilshire. It will return to Wilhelm next season.
Liu made 70 strokes into fourth place in the tie with Lauren Coughlin (67) and Miyu Yamashita (65).
The highest ranking Nelly Korda has performed well at the 68-year-old after winning 68 final matches in the Chevron Championship Championship in Houston next week.
“In the middle of the top nine, after the ic, a little stupid doubles and bogeys can support it,” Corda said. “So my fight went back to nine games, playing some solid golf in the last nine games.”
Second-ranked Jeeno Thitikul is also under 9 years old and has a 67-point shooting percentage.
Two-time defending champion Hannah Green is under 8 after he is 67.
Asterisk Talley, the 16-year-old Californian played a waiver in the sponsor waiver, beating 69-72. Recently runner-up for the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, she ranked second in the El Caballero of the American Women’s Teenager last year.
