A bunch of robots have a half marathon with people, that’s stupid

Beijing’s first half of the world marathon holding robots allows bipedal robots to compete with human runners, and as one would expect, the ridiculousness follows. The robots that have human operators run with them are working hard for the entire course in most cases, not to mention completing the entire 13 miles in a four-hour deadline. “One fell on the starting line,” Report. “The other guy’s head fell off and rolled on the ground. One guy fell down and broke into pieces.” They may not be the gold medalist yet, but the video is certainly fun.

according to Bloomberg21 robots competed, but the winner – X Human Five-foot-high Weather Ultra – was the only four that stretched to the end during the distribution period. In two hours and 40 minutes, its completion time is more than twice as long as the winning human runner.

Allow the team to make a battery swap (Tianhe Superbattery reportedly completed the third battery), and even swapped its robot for a replacement midway, although that was done with time penalty. With the day and super running about five miles per hour, robot runners include Noetix Robotics’ N2, a Gundam-inspired robot, a “female-looking” robot called Huan Huan, and a 30-inch small giant robot made from a 30-inch tall tiny robot Bloomberg Report. Many of them wore human running shoes.
