The Pope’s purpose is to “make the poorest joy and hope.” said Macron of France
French President Emmanuel Macron joined many European leaders on Monday to commemorate Pope Francis, who died at his residence in the Vatican at the age of 88.
“From Buenos Aires to Rome, Pope Francis hopes that the church will bring joy and hope to the poorest. To unite with each other and nature. May this hope be reborn endlessly,” Macron wrote on X in English.
He wrote: “For all Catholics, for a sad world, my wife and I have expressed our thoughts.”
Francis has led the Catholic Church for 12 years and is the first Latin American church. His death led to the contribution of European and other leaders.
