Insta360 X5 Action Camera Announcement: Key Specifications, Pricing

On Tuesday, the Insta360 launched the X5, a 360-degree action camera paired with the “invisible” selfie stick. The next iteration in the company’s flagship series is harder than ever, and has the ability to make videos with 5.7k and 60fps HDR support (or 8K non-HDR lenses). Not bad for a camera that can be kept in your pocket.
The dual-sided camera can capture real panoramic lenses, and the Chinese company showed off the new camera’s capabilities in a trailer video before the release. The X5 is now available for sale from Insta360 and Amazon, with a base price of $549.99.
With the X5, the Insta360 adds pressure to the GoPro, GoPro (at least for now, at least still synonymous with action cameras). While the GoPro Hero13 Black may still be the standard carrier of action cameras, the Insta360 is stuck in a key aspect. The company’s ACE Pro 2 has a leica lens, and the X5 beats GoPro’s new Max 360 camera in video resolution and battery power (GoPro’s newly updated 360-degree action camera is more affordable).

The key features of X5 need to be known
Insta360 introduces the “first, point, later” feature in the X5, which allows you to capture 360 degrees and traditional videos at the same time, giving creators more choices when editing videos. The X5 will also be tied together, and the invisible selfie stick is not visible when shooting, and from a third-person perspective, it has a unique floating camera effect.
In a press release announcing the launch, Insta360 also said the X5’s sensor is 144% larger than the X4, enabling a new AI-powered low-light mode.
First, Insta360 says the camera is the first of its kind to have interchangeable lenses.
We haven’t had a chance to test the X5, but we hope to review the new 360-degree camera soon.
