Bid for new targets for range of Mod weapons
Plans for two barges have been submitted that can be used in the bombing practices of the Lincolnshire Department of Defense.
The ships will be located in the Holbeach Air weapon series near the Gedney drive end.
The RAF and other NATO countries use this range to practice abandoning bombs and firing weapons.
It has been used since the 1920s.

The application submitted to the Southern KFC 10th District Council said that “by age and corrosion”, the site’s two goals need to be replaced to ensure the scope remains operational.
A RAF spokesman said: “For a long time, the Holbeach weapon series has supported not only special training for the RAF, but also NATO allies and partners.
“A new application has been submitted for the use of two barges in the Holbeach weapon series.
“Since 1926, these types of assets have been used in the region to train this nature and will serve as simulation targets that enable crews to manipulate and tactical about the different threats they may face.”
