NBA insiders reveal Trae Young’s true feelings about living in Atlanta

As the Atlanta Hawks did not make the playoffs for the second consecutive year, trade rumors about TRAE have begun.

However, NBA insider Chris Haynes said the guards don’t want to be anywhere except Atlanta.

“(Young) said he was in a good position,” Haynes said. “He said he knew that once the Hawks went to a young core, he knew there would be speculation. With the first pick, he knew there would be speculation in his future. He said he bought one. The process.

Young’s five-year-old, $215 million contract is scheduled to last for the 2026-27 season, but he has a player option that will allow him to become a free agent in 2026.

He qualifies for a new contract with the Eagles this summer.

CBS Sports’s Sam Quinn explains why Kevin Durant’s young trade may be a good trade for the Suns and the Hawks.

“If Phoenix wants a point guard to pair Booker, there could be a tee deal that will bring Kevin Durant to his preferred destination and assets to the Eagles,” Quinn said. “A young book partnership makes more sense than it seems.

“The core issue of Phoenix’s offense is the overshooting of the shooting and the inadequate index. Young can create simple shots. Booker can work hard to make tough shots. With a steady defense in both, you may not be fighting for the championship, but it may at least be somewhat considerable.”
