A group of wild horses that originated in the 14th century still roam the German countryside
Dormand, Germany (AP) – A group of wild horses dating back to the 14th century still roams the countryside of western Germany.
The herd of cattle is called Dullermons Yepped by German or duels. Today, nearly 400 horses form the herd of cattle living on the Merfelder Bruch Reserve in western Germany, north of the densely populated Ruhr industrial zone.
The earliest records of cattle herds date back to 1316. The Dukes of Croy reserved approximately 3.5 square kilometers (1.35 square miles) of reserves in the mid-19th century.
On Saturday, the recently popular foal lingers with other herds in the spring sunshine.
