Adobe will use LinkedIn’s free authentication tool to help creators protect their work

Adobe and LinkedIn are knocking down two birds with a stone, combining their authentication and content verification tools into a shared system under a new “Verification on LinkedIn” program.

“Using verification on LinkedIn, users will be able to use the verification they did on LinkedIn to show who they are on the different online platforms they use, increasing trust, confidence and credibility,” said Oscar Rodriguez, vice president of LinkedIn Trust.

The new partnership extends LinkedIn’s current identity, workplace and education verification badges to provide Adobe creators looking to protect their work for free authentication tools for professional social networking platforms, helping them seamlessly verify who they are and automatically trust their work on both platforms.

Mixable light speed

When the creators who are verified on LinkedIn add credentials through Adobe’s content Authenticity application, these credits appear on the verified LinkedIn badge and are verified on the LinkedIn badge. And, if the content is posted on LinkedIn, the platform will automatically tag it with the user’s content credentials.

Adobe’s content authenticity app (now in public beta) allows users to add content credentials to images and photos, part of the company’s broader content authenticity program. Other platforms such as Tiktok, tech companies and news organizations have also joined the campaign, including adding their own content credit system and signing to the Content Source and Authenticity Alliance (C2PA), a nonprofit project that promotes content in the AI era.

The company explained that LinkedIn’s badge can also be applied to Trustradius, G2 and Usertesting, as it encourages other companies to similarly integrate their free verification tools.
