EA cancels “Titanfall” project after company-wide layoffs

The latest trend in layoffs in the mass video game industry continues this week.
This time it’s electronic arts, considered one of the industry’s largest third-party video game publishers. Per Bloomberg, EA cuts over 300 jobs Titanfall, Apex Legendsand Star Wars Jedi game.

Respawn’s official X account released a statement Monday saying the studio had to cancel two “early incubation projects” as part of those cuts.

Bloomberg’s report shows that a project was earlier this year Titanfall universe. It’s not clear how far the game is in development, but according to Bloomberg, that’s far from being released.
