Vornado 660 Fan is the next best thing for AC

Living in Boston, I’ve adapted to the stuffy summer. The best way to survive is a good AC unit and some temporary trip. So imagine my fears, three years ago I moved into an apartment that would make it impossible to install an AC unit. With horizontal sliding windows, it is impossible to make windows or portable AC units to work.
As someone who might get the quietest sleep of my life in a walk-in refrigerator, I worry about feeling comfortable at nights with northeast humidity without AC. However, after some research, a former colleague suggested that Vornado 660 get me through. Oh man, this is the best $100 I’ve ever spent.
This table doesn’t look like many fans. It doesn’t oscillate, it only comes with four speed settings, but don’t judge the fan based on its function. The Vornado 660 fan is the most powerful fan I have ever used. It circulates the air violently at its maximum speed and even at medium speeds, I can sleep comfortably even when the temperature reaches the 90s. There was no AC that summer and I easily recovered the vornado 660.
The top story of chaos
The air conditioner pulls the warm air from the room and recycles it through the refrigerant system to push out the cool air, while the fan works by circulating the air, thus evaporating the heat in the body. So while the AC unit can solve the whole room, the fan works best when placed directly in your location. The same goes for the Vornado 660, which keeps the temperature crispy even when pointing directly to you even when sweating outside. But Vornado also focuses on air circulation, creating vortex in a room where air pops out of the wall. While I can’t see those air paths that prove their efficacy, I can prove that using this fan always makes my room feel refreshed, rather than dense with stale air.

The Vornado 660 has only four settings, but oh, they are powerful.

If I have any beef with the Vornado 660, it is that it is a dust magnet that often collects dust in its grate. Fortunately, it can be taken apart for a thorough cleaning. Otherwise, I recommend only regular dust schedules. But otherwise, this is a great alternative to AC, especially since it uses a small portion of the electricity. Even if you can install an AC, you can choose a fan if you want to save money on your electricity bill.
I have purchased a second for our home office since I bought Vornado 660 years ago. I use the Vornado 660 year-round while I sleep, both with soft white noise and extra cooling. Even if we now have an AC unit in the bedroom, the fan can help keep the air fresh. Our family is so passionate about the Vornado 660 that when we didn’t trust the cooling options for accommodation, my partner and I took it to the holiday.
If you can’t install an AC at home this summer or want to save on electricity bills, the Vornado 660 fan is my favorite option to keep it cool.
