It’s still May, which means it’s still Google time. After showing Android’s new perspective on Android’s Android Show, the company still hosts a developer meeting to view the list. Google I/O 2025 is scheduled to start at 1pm/10pm on May 20, and Engadget will be live coverage through our own Karissa Bell LiveBlog and ground coverage.
Google has included some Gemini news in the Android show – AI is about to wear OS, Android Auto and Google TV – but AI should still be the focus of the company’s upcoming keynote. also. Looking forward to news about how Google uses AI to search, as well as some other surprises, such as the debut of the AI-powered Pinterest alternative.
The company made it clear during its Android presentation that its mixed reality platform, Android XR, will also appear during I/O. This could include mixed reality headsets Google and Samsung are collaborating, or, at the end of the Android Show, the smart glasses teased with Google’s Project Astra built-in.
