HP brings Snapdragon chips to cheaper laptops

HP (HP) provides much-needed power to the Omnibook 5 series laptop series. As part of Computex 2025, HP made its debut on laptops equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X and X Plus chips for energy efficiency and performance. The 14-inch version of the new Omnibook 5 series starts at $799, while the 16-inch change costs at least $849.
Previously, if you wanted the benefits of using Snapdragon chips in your HP laptop, you would have come across the more expensive Omnibook X option that retails for at least $1,000. Now, HP has more affordable options that still have the benefits of an ARM processor. The Omnibook 5 series may not be as powerful as the Omnibook X, but it still has access to Copilot+’s AI features such as Recell, Click-tocle-to-to-do, and Revered Windows search experiences.
All in a laptop with a 2K OLED display that has a battery life of 34 hours and is charged up to 50% in 30 minutes. If the singular display of your laptop isn’t enough, the Omnibook 5 can be connected to a single external 5K monitor or two 4K monitors. Meeting all your virtual meeting needs, HP’s latest laptop has a 1080p IR camera and is paired with its Audio Enhancement 2.0 feature to deliver better sound quality and AI-powered noise.
HP says Omnibook 5 with Snapdragon is available first on Amazon and Microsoft starting in June. In July, the 14-inch Omnibook 5 will be available to HP’s own website, Best Buy and Costco. The 16-inch version will also be available in July through HP and its retail partners.
