Dyson’s new pencenvac is the lightest and thinnest cordless vacuum I’ve ever used
Cordless vacuums are lightweight, but the best vacuums we tested still have heavyweight cleaning capabilities. Some of the best cordless vacuums I’ve tested are from Dyson. The company is excellent on our list of the best cordless vacuums, earning mops that destroy dust and wet dry even if its models tend to be higher in size.
Dyson’s new pencenvac is different. As the name suggests, the shape of the pencil is very similar to that of the pencil. It feels more like holding a broom than a vacuum. It is also the lightest and thinnest cordless vacuum I have ever used, with a diameter of only 38mm and weighing less than 4 pounds (1.8 kg). The entire motor (Hypderdynium 140K motor) is somehow small enough to fit the handle, which is no bigger than the rest of the vacuum.

While cordless vacuums are easier to manipulate than corded vacuums, they are probably the heaviest, some weigh 12 pounds, and even lighter weights usually weigh about 6 or 7 pounds.

Using pencenvac
In Dyson’s showroom, the brush rolling on the wood floor is the smallest effort, part of which comes from the brush head design. Instead of a standard single or double brush roller, the Pencilvac has four conical brush rods (two arrays on each side). They are designed to pop the hair and prevent it from wrapping and wrapping the brush. The front bar rotates in one direction, while the rear bar rotates in the opposite direction, which, in theory, is more comprehensive in cleaning.

The trash can fill up quickly, but it’s easy to be empty
I briefly used a Dyson showroom vacuum to clean up the cookie crumbs on the floor. Green LED lights are also features you can find in the Dyson V15 detection, which make it easy to see dust and other debris. The mess was clean with a few strips and the bin managed to press the debris into a tight mass. It was fascinating to see all the dirt collected on top of the bin. Dyson claims that despite only 0.08 liters of capacity, the new Dustbin design can fill dust and debris into five times the same space.

This may be true, but I noticed that the trash is filled quickly and needs to be cleared immediately between each demo. For reference, the average size of a cordless vacuum bin is usually between 0.5 liters on the small end and one liter on the larger end.
I just can’t see the Pencilvac being the primary vacuum for people in large families with pets and kids, although it can provide a nice addition to the more mainstream vacuum as it is so lightweight and easy to use.
Eject the vacuum like a syringe
Empty the dust and debris listed by the pencil like a plunger or syringe.
On the plus side, it’s easy to empty the bin with a unique plunger pop-up system that allows you to pop the dust directly into the bin without shaking or pounding it. Includes some tools such as Combi-Crevice and Conical Hair screw tools and provide more cleaning tasks by helping you get into tight and awkward spaces and pulling your hair out of carpets, sofas and mattresses.
Pencilvac comes with a magnetic charging dock, but unlike some competitors Shark clean and emptyit won’t be self-centered. It’s also Dyson’s first connected vacuum cleaner, allowing you to pair it with the Mydyson app to monitor things like battery life and filter maintenance.

Price and availability
Dyson hasn’t shared pricing with us yet, but it will be available in the U.S. from Dyson.com next year. I look forward to testing it in our Louisville Lab to see what other thin and lightweight options are compared to the more powerful models.
