Northwest Top Stanford University Wins NCAA Women’s Golf Championship

Carlsbad, Calif. – The Northwestern won its first NCAA women’s golf title Wednesday, when Dianna Lee defeated a 5-foot par putt on the 18th hole to beat Andrea Revuelta to top-seeded Stanford 3-2 to finish the last highly tense hour.
Stanford won 27 with a record score and won its third NCAA title in four years and became the first team to win the defender since the game was held in 2017.
Instead, the Wildcats screamed at La Costa when Lee missed the putt he won.
“In addition to doing what people can do, this group believes in what it can do,” said Northwest coach Emily Fletcher.
Megha Ganne of Stanford scored 5 points and 4 wins in the lead, while Hsin Tai Lin of Northwest scored 3 and 2 wins.
Laura Nguyen put the Wildcats on the brink of the championship with a 7-foot birdie putt to beat Paula Martin Sampedro.
This makes Northwest only need Dianna Lee, who only needs Dianna Lee on five holes, or Elise Lee took his first lead in Stanford’s Kelly Xu on the 15th hole.
Stanford did not defeat it.
Xu missed a 4-foot putt for the first time, and he answered in a 15-foot birdie on the 3rd 16, wedging 10 feet for Birdie on the 17th to regain control. They cut the 18th hole in half, giving Xu a one-win victory and tied the team with two shots.
Dianna Lee once had a firm grasp of the last game. Revuelta Bogey hit three holes with 11 and 12, dropping by five holes, but she won the 14th by par and won a 15-foot birdie putt at 15 to hit one.
Lee was blown up 7 feet in the bunker behind and missed her par putt on the 16th. However, revuelta pulled her 4-foot par putter down 1. On the next hole, Lee had a 12-foot birdie putt to win the game and pull it and run it nearly 5 feet. Missed it, the competition is all square. She put it in 18th place.
The 5-pole 5-pole closed hole is equal to a wedge-shaped match, and the stream guards the green. Both players have about 18 feet. Lee’s Uphill Putt rotates from his left lip and rolls for 5 feet. Revuelta left her downhill putt and set Lee with a 5-foot victory.
This time, she did it, and the celebration was held for Northwest, which had reached the finals before 2017 before losing to Arizona.
