Cubs ‘get motivated’ in the 2027 All-Star Game

Patrick Mooney wrote that the Cubs’ efforts to host the 2027 All-Star Game seem to be “an enhanced momentum.” Bruce Levine’s 670-year score reported Thursday afternoon that the game will be “granted” to the Cubs later this summer, but a team spokesman later told reporters that no decision has been made.
Anyway, it’s clear that the Cubs are looking to have a Midsummer Classic at Wrigley Field. Mooney wrote that Major League Baseball (MLB) was concerned about hosting the event in the tightly packed Wrigley community.
Alderman proposed a project about 30mm in the city council to expand the sidewalk and install safety bombards around the stadium, Fran Spielman of Chicago’s Sun Age wrote Wednesday. If approved, the Cubs will pay at least 8mm, while Illinois will contribute 12mm and New York City will pay no more than 10mm. The plan is not under the conditions of the Cubs, which hosts the All-Star Game, but it seems to strengthen their bid for the celebration.
Wrigley Field held All-Star Games three times, the most recent in 1990. (The game was held in Chicago in 2003 and in Chicago in 2003. Major League Baseball generally announced host city two years in advance – although the Philadelphia game was decided long before that. Commissioner Rob Manfred said in February 2024 that the Cubs and Blue Jays were considering future missions.
