The confrontation between Doom, Doom, Jr., and God of the Story of Loki, could mean the future of the MCU

Superman has been a big explosion in superhero culture for decades. Before the billionaire among the batting room and the wise cyber eavesdropper, there is a man in a red cape that can single a tall building and redefine what it means to be a hero.
But in multiple leaps, moral grey antiheroes and cape fatigue eras, a problem has been surfaced:
Is Superman still important?
The answer is loud Yes – James Gunn proves this here.

Superhero’s OG
Since his debut Action Comics #1 In 1938, Superman was more than just a comic book character. He is a symbol, a myth, and for many, a blueprint for heroism. Created by two Jewish teenagers during the Great Depression, Superman represents the experience of immigration, the desire for justice and the fantasy of facing powerless power.
Superman is not only faster than speeding bullets – he is hopeful for Spandex.
However, the clarity of this purpose begins to become blurred.
Superman problem
In recent years, Superman’s relevance has been questioned. Some people think he is “too perfect”, too boring, too many relics from the black and white world. In a popular culture landscape, dominated by conflicting characters like Batman, Deadpool and Punisher, Superman begins to feel…quaint.
Then there is the movie.
Henry Cavill’s Superman wins fans, but his tenure is knocked out by gritty aesthetics, inconsistent directions and the DC universe, but is still trying to find its foothold. Superman becomes more like concept More than characters: talk, quote, but very little Felt.

Enter James Gunn – New Hope
James Gunn is coming soon Superman The restart (scheduled to be released in July 2025) is more than just another superhero movie. This is a mission statement.
Gunn turned the obscure characters into the names of the Asterisk and Rocket Raccoon, and he was not interested in making Superman “cool” by modern standards. He is interested in reminding us why Superman Always.
Gunn’s method? Restate the symbol of Superman in a cynical world. Not by ignoring complexity, but tilting. His Superman (by David Corenswet) will navigate in a world that doubts him – but he will lead with kindness, strength and moral clarity, not violence or violence.
In Gunn’s words, it’s about “Truth, justice and American way – explain for everyone.”

Why this matters
In a broken, polarized and devastating rolling world, Superman may be the hero we need again – not because of his punches, but because of him believe most.
He is not a God who tries to be human. He is a man, better than his biology. He is not perfect-he struggles. He doubted. But he chose to do it well.
This is radical.
James Gunn’s Superman could be DC’s culture reset button or the entire culture button for the modern superhero genre. Not only the course correction – but also the Why do we fall in love with heroes first.
Final Thought: The Return of Light
MCU gives us humor. Snyderverse gives us myths. But maybe what we desire now is Heart.
James Gunn turns to the ship and refocuses on hope, Superman (2025) Not just a movie. It’s an opportunity to reintroduce the world into a role that never stops important-we just forget why.
Maybe, maybe it’s time for us to believe that a man can fly again.
