Since the early days of the movie, “Sword Fight” has been a staple in the action genre.
When the duel is good, it sticks to it.
What makes sword fight sword? For the purposes of this list, we are going to stick to a one-on-one battle where at least one of the two combatants is fighting with actual swords.
So unfortunately, there is no Jackie Chan with the Axe Gang, but seriously, you have to watch it right away because wow, Jackie Chan is a lunatic and he doesn’t care about his safety and you should love him.
The battle of swords was established, and now we have to figure out what makes a man good.
This is not enough to make duel technically proficient. It has to mean something that surprises us, moves us or makes incredible things happen. If it’s beautiful, it helps too.

Blade

The battle is intimate, cruel and personal. It is located in a vivid hall lit during the day, without music, without crowds, stripping the battle of the sword into its poorest form: survival.
Cunningham is a well-trained nobleman – fast, agile, sadistic. Rob Roy is slower, more extensive, and completely self-taught. This imbalance is the point.
Roy matches exactly. He stood on his ground, but we were slowly killed as we watched.
The choreography was designed by William Hobbs, an experienced fighting director known for his realism. Neeson and Roth trained extensively on the field and insisted on doing it themselves, which added solid high-risk tension.
Rob Roy won instead of winning through skills, but with pure willpower and endurance, ultimately turning the table into a table in the last second with sudden, explosive acts of violence.
Kill Bill

Robin Williams conducted extensive fence training at stunt coordinator Nick Gillard (who later worked in the Star Wars prequel). Dustin Hoffman firmly tilted his character, making Hook’s skill foppish dangerous – although dramatic, its dramaticity is deadly.
Duels are as many as swordsmanship. hook. Pan laughed. This is not a fight for the fate of the world, but identity, revenge and closure.
The choreography mixes real fence techniques with fantasy against gravity – it can fly after all – which adds a dreamy edge to the peculiar shock.

The choreography, designed by Lau Kar-Leung and Chan himself, is a master class of improvised defense. Jackie turns her surroundings with geniuses: gangbangs, train axles and tight spaces into both weapons and shields. It has nothing to do with form, but more to survival.
No wires. No camera scam. Just a relentless movement, real danger and perfect timing.
And, despite the bets, somehow makes it fun. That’s magic Drunk Master 2: You can’t believe what you’re seeing, but you’re grinning the whole time.
Pirates of the Caribbean
