Pavelski wins Tahoe celebrity golf competition; Barkley is 69th

South Nevada Lake Tahoe – Former NHL player Joe Pavelski won the U.S. Century title on Sunday at Edgewood Tahoe and ended with the Eagles, beating former pitcher John Smoltz with nine points in a wire win in a celebrity game.
Pavelski scored 73 points with a score of 29 points under the modified Stableford scoring system. Last year he was second only to former tennis player Mardy Fish.
“Actually, I don’t know what to say,” Pavelski said. “But it was just an amazing week. This place is incredible. It means the world to me.”
Pavelski made $150,000 from his $750,000 wallet.
Smoltz’s round was 28 points.
“I’m trying to heat up on anyone,” Smallz said. “I just want to climb as many people as possible.”
Country star Jake Owen ranked third with 62 after 21 points.
Taylor Twellman, a former football player, shared a second round lead with Pavelski, who finished fourth with 61 points. He scored 17 points in the final round.
NBA star Stephen Curry is the 2023 champion and is ranked fifth after 23 points.
Charles Barkley ranks 17th in the 90 player field.
