It was a close call to jet pilots in the Delta region, who said he had to do “radical action” to avoid aerial collisions with the B-52 bomber.

The Skycrystal jet was landing in Minot, North Dakota on Friday when the plane almost collided with a huge military aircraft.

ABC News obtained videos from passengers on board, which documented the apology the pilot made after landing safely at the airport.

Popular stories:

“Given his speed…I don’t know how fast they’re going, but they’re much faster than we do, and I think it’s the safest thing to turn it,” the pilot said. “I’m sorry for the aggressive moves, which is not normal at all. I don’t know why they didn’t get us interested because the Air Force Base does have radar… Long story short, it’s not fun, it’s not fun, but I do apologize for it and thank you for your understanding. It’s not fun at work.”

It is unclear how close the jet actually crashed, or if there were any alarms in the cockpit warning the pilot.

Minot is the home of the air force base. The Air Force issued a statement Sunday night saying:

“We are aware of recent reports on commercial and Air Force aircraft operating in the Minot International Airport space. We are currently investigating the matter. We can confirm that the B-52 aircraft assigned to the Minot AFB carried a North Dakota flyover Friday night in North Dakota.”

Skywest said in a statement:

“Flight Skywest 3788, a delta link from Minneapolis, Minnesota to Minnot, North Dakota, landed safely in Minnot after the tower was cleared and approached, but swam a while while they saw another plane on their flight path. We are investigating the incident.”
