As always, Waterwheel Center’s annual two-day welfare festival is a feast. In many courses: huge aluminum heads, rope-tied piano players, hand-bent steel instruments and performing arts in several flavors. Perhaps the most striking thing is Under milkthe ongoing performance of the late pope, originally held at the Waterwheel Center, where the artist once again performed Lydia Graynaked, barefoot, blindfolded red and red. This year’s toast to the creative impulse in multiple interdisciplinary forms is titled “Graffiti”, at the center of the celebration is its winners – Iken, actress, activist, filmmaker and farmer Isabella Rossellini and architect Francis Kéré.
