Wolf Pack Release: Brendan Brisson

July 31, 2025

Hartford, Connecticut – Brendan Brisson experienced various first games in the 2024-25 season. The former first-round draft pick has trained the NHL with the Las Vegas Golden Knights for the first time in his career. He also experienced his first deal as he was acquired by the Golden Knights on the NHL trade deadline.

“It’s a little different,” Brison said of the deal. “Since I was selected, it’s been different for the past five years, and it’s not like I had the chance to adjust the camp in the summer.”

Different may be good. Brison quickly adapted to his new home, which was what Hartford’s culture and leadership made possible.

“When I got here, it was great,” he added. “The whole organization, the staff, the coaches, the players, they welcomed me with open arms and really allowed me to regain confidence. It’s been a tough year for me and they’re great in that way.”

Brisson is the instant influence of AHL Henderson Silver Knights. After turning pro, he scored 8 points (3 g, 5 a) in seven games later in the 2021-22 season. As a rookie in the 2022-23 season, he scored 37 points (18 g, 19 a), ranking fourth among clubs in the category.

In his second season as a professional, the 2023-24 season, Brison sets high marks in goals (19) and points (38).

His third season didn’t develop in his offensive manner. Brisson scored 19 points (5 g, 14 a) in 45 games with the Silver Knights before trading to the Rangers and arriving at Hartford. With a new organization, Brison is happy to start fresh.

“I love the first two years of the AHL,” he said. “There were a lot of ups and downs last year. For me, it was great to have the opportunity to reset in the summer and I could put last season behind me.

“Like I said, the support from the organization since I got here is great, and for me, I look forward to having a huge summer, having a good camp and trying to give myself the best chance to be a Ranger and back to the NHL.”

Brison’s offseason focus is largely offensive. He hopes to return to the 20-goal pace in the first two seasons in the AHL. Doing so will make him a key gear for the Wolf Pack offense as they hope to return to the Calder Cup playoffs in 2026.

When asked what job he wanted to do during the summer months, he said, “Physically, it’s about getting faster, getting back on better conditioning and getting faster hockey.” “I don’t feel like the things I’m good at as this year are offensive things and doing well, which is usually very natural for me.

“I feel like something I’m good at again and the confidence in these areas is important. Let all this tangle be eliminated and have a huge summer and a big camp.”

Working in those aspects of his game and finding his confidence again will go a long way toward achieving his training camp goals. The goal he set for the camp is simple, and is a common goal he will compete with those on the roster.

“Like everyone, I want to get the team (the Rangers) out of the camp,” Brison declared. “I know I can do it, I did an NHL lineup in front of the camp in Las Vegas, so just camp and stick with it. I know to keep me in the league. I learned a lot since last year and I want to take advantage of everything I learned in the summer and summer. If I do that. If I do that, I’ll be fine.”
