Megha Ganne Def. Brooke Biermann in the United States Women’s Amateur

BANTON, Oregon – Megha Ganne won three straight wins at Brooke Biermann, who suffered the wrongdoing, and was never seriously threatened as she won the fourth and third place in the U.S. Women’s Amateur Game with 4 points and 3 wins on Sunday.

Biermann won three times the hole in the afternoon, and Ganne answered a birdie, keeping it 4 times, which is just a matter of time when she won. Biermann played well on the green twice and admitted the hole in the afternoon. She never put any pressure on Ganne.

“Brook wasn’t easy for me. She showed a lot of battles,” said Gann. “It’s probably my last female amateur and I really want to get the job done.”

Gann started her senior year at Stanford next month, and he has been chasing the USGA championship for nearly a decade. She entered the semifinals of the American Women’s Amateur at the age of 15 in 2019, losing to Albane Valenzuela on the 19th hole.

She had little chance to go to Banton Dunes.

Ganne beat seven holes in the semifinal against Ella Scaysbrook when she rallied to impose an extra hole to win the birdie on the 19th.

There is not much drama in the championship game. Ganne never fell behind, although each player won three holes and the game was all square in the morning.

Biermann lost three holes in the next three holes with bogey and never caught up. Ganne rose three times after 18 holes, while Biermann never got close.

“Mega is a great player,” Bielman said. “I tried to leave my own thoughts. Unfortunately, the putter was cold today. Overall, I felt like I was going all out. I exploded here.”

Biermann, who just finished his college career at Michigan State, struggled with at least staying in the game. On the 14th hole, she had a 20-foot putter from the green collar. She had to do this to cut the deficit to 2 and play at four holes.

But Biermann left briefly, missed the next putt, and suddenly four fell down four. Ganne took the pole from 15 feet to close the game.

“I can’t believe I’m standing here right now,” Ganne said as he held the trophy. “I won’t lie, I’m thinking about this trophy all day.”
