I hate the word “sinful joy”. Yes, I know it can work for something other than movies, but movies are my only fluent language and “Sinful Pleasure” is part of the movie discussion dictionary and needs to disappear. I can write a lot in these various terms that require retirement – expecting “too bad,” “plot holes,” and “plot armor,” potential appearances in a not too far-reaching future – but I think I think I talk about it first for several reasons.
For beginners, it’s because I stopped using the term “sinful pleasure” a few years ago, which really enriched my relationship with film and art.
Sinful joy is based on shame
What does it mean when someone says they like the guilty pleasure of movies? It instantly marks any movie they talk about as something they like. This encourages people to enjoy certain movies in general and expect that certain movies can only be viewed from a certain shameful perspective.
This will only encourage more satirical poisoning that is infecting our entire society. People who talk about guilty happy movies are more likely to evaluate art from a more ironic perspective. When you distance yourself from the difference in the art you’ve experienced, it starts to influence your overall assessment.
I know, because that was my experience as a thriving movie geek when I was young, I wanted to try to harm others before it was too late.
Learn to accept your love for movies
When I watch a movie today, if it attracts me in any substantial way, I think it’s a win. So many movies can’t reach the level of basic interest, even with the latest budget fare, Jurassic World: Rebirth (My comment). So I don’t care if you’re a Neil Breen movie or a clumsy movie, and if you have my attention and keep it up, I’ll hug you.
I realize that I love watching movies more open and enthusiastically than most people, but this attitude also allows me to appreciate and discover more movies. And I don’t think those guilty pleasures are. jaw It’s my favorite movie, but I’ll talk about that widely recognized masterpiece like I do Small animals or Tremor even Corpse Eater. If I like movies, I don’t care how others would think of their so-called identity.
There is no reason to use the term “sinful joy” except in terms of the view of the movie. Don’t be afraid to make serious arguments about your favorite movies without a layer of independent coolness to serve your self. If you like that World War I won’t watch the movie, and I want to make a valid argument for why I like it outside of the disciples. Start standing up for your reaction to the movies, rather than crossing them out through shameful deflection.
