Pat Bev says the Warriors will win more with PG-13 instead of Klay

Patrick Beverley has never been shy to share a strong opinion, and he shared an interesting opinion on his former teammates Paul George and Klay Thompson.
The former Clippers defender claimed that if Paul George (rather than Klay Thompson) had Paul George (rather than Klay Thompson) in the recent Pat Bev Bev Bevcast, Paul George might have been more dominant.
“If you put Paul George in the role of Klay Thompson, you know, playing with Steph, Draymond Green, Iguodala, obviously, we know Paul George. But we know Paul George a few years ago, he played in the MVP,” Beverly said. “If you replace two, I think it’s right, we don’t know, but we’re just thinking in basketball, I think Golden State might win more titles.”

Beverley’s comments question what Thompson’s long-term role as Curry’s backfield partner is undoubtedly.
His ability to stand out puts him alongside Curry’s sporty style. Will Paul George flourish?
Back in 2024, when the Warriors were linked to George as a possible replacement for Klay, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith made clear why he thought the move wouldn’t work.
“I just don’t think he’s a catcher,” Smith said. “I think he’s a guy…there’s a possibility to ruin their pace. He’s better for the Clippers. He’s better for Philadelphia. He’s going to be a bit more for the New York Knicks than for the New York Knicks to some extent.
Since George entered the Twilight of his career, it seems like he would never test the PG-13/Steph Curry Combo Out.
