when 28 years later Finally seeing the long-awaited drama release, the message board is filled with the same questions on the internet: “Where is Cyrian Murphy?” His absence sparked a debate about whether he was going to return to Jim’s role or just to promote the planned trilogy. It has since been confirmed that Murphy has attached the project to his role as executive producer, and in fact, Jim will 28 years later: Bone Templeand the final part that has not been named yet.
While I was happy to see Cillian Murphy’s return, I couldn’t help asking, “Do we really need him?”
We all want to know what Jim has been doing since the 2002 film Angry Virus first broke out, but he is just one of countless people who have lived through social collapse and recovery. His life experience in this novel is just a small problem on the screen in the grand plan.

Jim in a complete and satisfying story 28 days laterand 28 years after Without his presence on the screen, it is a key and commercial success. Founded on the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, and beside the desolate continent, the New World is a fertile ground for wealthy storytelling, with a new group of survivors taking their own independent adventures.
If you ignore events After 28 weeks As Garland and Danny Boyle seem to have, there is reason to believe that the angry virus has successfully included mainland England, and that some of the early survivors “rejected” the country’s hell in the aftermath, including the character of Cillian Murphy. The drama ending 28 days later Seeing Jim, Selena and Hannah waving their planes after finding a shelter in an abandoned cottage. In my case, this is where their story ends.
Obviously, it takes 2 Jims to Tango
28 years later Implication Jim returns through graffiti scattered across the continent. My first thought was that Jim has always been a hidden being seen as a folk hero who insisted on guiding other survivors through the wasteland. That is, until we are introduced to adult Jimmy Crystal and his cult-like fools, dressed like Teletubbies, fighting infected hordes as if they were Power Rangers.
The epic cliff at the end 28 years later For the upcoming Bone Temple Instalments, no doubt the next chapter will be decided in Jim of Cillian Murphy and Sir Jimmy Crystal of Jack O’Connell, making it the most Jimmy story in the franchise. I’m not worried about bringing the original Jim back, rather than entering a completely new, unknown territory, that will allow us to live in the past even if the franchise tries to move towards a better future.
Not necessary until necessary
It’s exciting to see Cillian Murphy re-engage with his role as part of me as he might have some long-lost knowledge that survivors need to keep moving forward. But, too, I thought in my mind that he was returning to the legend, a quick and easy way to get the donkey back in his seat.
Consider Garland and Boyle Bone Temple Its follow-up is very good. Without any material, we will not receive cheap reintroductions to reappreciate the days of glory.
Bringing Cillian Murphy back to the mix can be backwards if you accidentally handle storytelling.
