Mark Cuban’s NSFW plays Luka Doncic after Lakers trade

There was a time when Mark Cuban seemed unwavering in his support for Luka Doncic. Back in 2020, the long-time Dallas Mavericks owner even joked that he “will divorce his wife before he gets rid of the Slovenian.”

But, as Don Cic is now wearing a Los Angeles Lakers jersey, Cuba’s position has turned.

Cuba admits he is no longer a stubborn fan of the players who once defined his franchise.

“Yes, of course,” Cuba said when asked if he was a stubborn Doncic fan while passing through the arena in Dallas.

When asked if he still feels that way now, his reaction was outspoken: “Of course not.”

Although Cuba made it clear that he still attached great importance to Doncic himself, he did not work hard for his success with the Lakers.

“On the court, Aluka died,” he said. “On the court, he didn’t want him to get hurt or anything.”

Cuba also explained how his contempt for purple and gold began.

“They’re the same color as my high school – I threw my high school gear away,” he said. “…I hope they can be 0-82. I love Luka to death. He’s a good guy… Luka is a good guy, but the Lakers.”

Doncic’s six full seasons in Dallas include four playoff games, playing in the 2024 NBA Finals and 80 triple games, far outpaced any other maverick in franchise history.

In 422 regular season games, he averaged 28.6 points, 8.7 rebounds, 8.3 assists and 1.2 steals per game.

Since Doncic now hopes to win the Lakers’ 18th championship in 2026, there is no doubt that Cuba’s words will be loyal to him.

If Los Angeles were to take the helm of Doncic, Larry O’Brien Trophy Hiseist Hish, it’s safe to assume that Cuba won’t celebrate.
