Caitlin Clark The rest of the WNBA season will be missed after a groin injury in July.
“I had hoped to share better updates, but I wouldn’t be back to the season,” Clark, 23, wrote in an Instagram post late Thursday, September 4 with black and white photos of her and her teammates. “I spent hours in the gym every day, and a weird goal is to get back there, the word of disappointment is not big enough to describe how I feel.”
The Indiana Heat’s point guard continued: “I want to thank everyone who supports me in all the uncertainty. It’s incredibly frustrating, but even at the downside, there are great ways. The fans continue to show up for the way I show up, and for my fever, bringing me so much joy and important perspective. I’m getting stronger for this team this year.”
“It’s time to end the season and win the playoffs,” Clark concluded.
Clark hasn’t appeared on the court since July 15, when she suffered the right groin injury in the final moments of her craze game in the Connecticut Suns.
In a joint post shared by Fever and WNBA Instagram accounts on July 17, Clark confirmed that she must compete in both the WNBA All-Star Game and the 3-pointer Game.
“I’m excited to host the WNBA All-Star Game this weekend, and I’m so excited,” she said in a statement. “I want to thank the Indianapolis host committee and all the people who have worked endlessly over the past year for bringing this event together. I know it will be the best All-Star to date.”
She added: “I feel very sad and disappointed and said I can’t play in the 3-point competition or the All-Star game. I have to rest my body. I’ll still be in all the moves at Gainbridge Fieldhouse and I look forward to helping Sandy help Sandy [Brondello] Guide our team to victory. ”

Several of Clark’s hot teammates commented on Thursday’s Instagram post to send her good wishes in disappointing news as she won’t be back in court this season.
