California man discovers secretly living in apartment crawling space

Officials said a California man was found living secretly in a crawling space in an Oregon apartment, who they said had space for beds, electricity and other amenities.

Benjamin Bucur, 40, allegedly ran an extension through the vent to provide lighting and power to his electronics.

Deputies discovered temporary living spaces in an unincorporated area in Clarkmas County near Portland.

After 11 p.m., a witness told deputies they found a man parked and walked behind the building. Witnesses said they did not believe the man lived in the complex.

The residents followed Bucur and found the doors opened by the crawling space, and light came from inside. Then someone closed the door.

Officials said the owners told deputies that no one should live in the area and that there was no light in the crawling space.

The owner also noticed strange sounds from the area in the past, but did not take any steps to investigate.

Deputies violated the locked door and found Bukur inside, as well as beds, lights, chargers, TVs and other electronic devices.

According to the statement, pipes with white residues that were positive for methamphetamine were also found.

According to previous arrests, the past Bukul appears to have lived in California in the past.

According to a statement from the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office, Bukull, a former Patterson resident, was convicted of burglary and automatic theft in the San Joaquin Valley.

Bucur was stopped last month by an officer who reportedly stolen car. The official found a laptop, computer monitor, jewelry and PlayStation in the car.

Bucur told the officer that he had stole his friend’s car in San Jose and planned to drive to Los Angeles, where he planned to sell the stolen property. He was sentenced to two years in prison at that time.

After discovering the crawl space, deputies booked Bukul at the Clarkmas County Jail for suspected burglary and possession of methamphetamine. According to the sheriff’s office, his bail was set at $75,000.
