Generation Z is the loneliest generation, and the third generation lacks human interaction

The most common thing about Generation Z is loneliness – a third of the feeling they don’t get enough regular human interaction. A poll of 2,000 adults found that 37% of Gen Z often felt lonely, while Gen X and 11% of Tide Generations were 15%. But 22% of all adults don’t know how to talk to strangers either. 45% believe they spend more time talking to people rather than talking in person. The study was commissioned by McVitie’s, who worked with mental health charity mind and viral documentary maker to enjoy the cup of life to focus on the US’s struggle with loneliness and to make the country talk again. Will Shears, who has nearly a million followers on Instagram, has poignant and candid chats with strangers on the bench, said: “It’s important in a digital world where we can spend time in a digital world to connect with others in front of screens, and it’s important to remember that we can stand out from technology.
