Are Liv Golf Pros playing in Bethpage Black?

The Ryder Cup happens every two years, tying 12 top American players with 12 top golfers from Europe. Both teams will be in the 2025 Ryder Cup match at Bethpage Black, but will LIV golfers compete on either team?
This is what you need to know.
Are LIV players allowed to play the Ryder Cup?
The short answer is yes. Professional golfers who compete in Liv Golf are allowed to compete in the Ryder Cup. Nothing explicitly prohibits them from automatically qualifying for the Ryder Cup team or being selected as the pick for captain.
But the two teams work differently.
Although the PGA Tour in the U.S. banned Liv Pros from participating in the competition, the U.S. side of the Ryder Cup is run by the U.S. PGA. There are no rules forbidding any Liv Golf Pro to play on Team USA. (Brooks Koepka did this at the 2023 Ryder Cup.
However, if you compete on Liv Golf, it’s hard to qualify for the Ryder Cup. Most Ryder Cup points for automatic qualifier purposes are distributed in the PGA Tour event. Therefore, American LIV players can only win points in the Grand Slam. But the captain can choose any Liv Pro for Team USA’s draft pick for free.
On the European side, to qualify a LIV golfer on the Ryder Cup team, they must be an active member of the DP World Tour and pay a significant fine for participating in the Liv golf competition.
If they meet these criteria, they can automatically qualify for teams in Majors and DP World Tour events or can be selected as a pick for Captain.
