First lady Melania Trump said on Monday that she expressed support for the target that hit her deep.

Deepfakes are videos and images generated by AI. Many created are involuntary explicit images that use someone’s similarity. For example, Taylor Swift’s obvious deep hit was all the rage on X last year, but it wasn’t just the danger of being deeply enlarged. The same goes for every day, usually women, and being a victim of deep strikes can be harmful to someone’s mental health.

“Every young man should have a safe online space to express himself freely without posing a threat of exploitation or harm,” Melania Trump said in a roundtable discussion on Capitol Hill on Monday.

Despite the profound danger, many free speech organizations have concerns about Knockdown.

Why is it controversial to let it go?

Organizations like the Electronic Border Foundation, Siecus: Gender Change and the Woodhull Freedom Foundation sent a letter to the Senate before the vote to express their reservations to the bill.

The letter believes that the purpose of deleting it is commendable, but the current text will lead to voluntary clear images (aka pornography) and even content such as news or political speeches.

“In its current form, the bill creates a notification and deletion (NTD) mechanism that will result in deleting more than just involuntary intimate images [NDII] The letter said, but it was neither illegal nor NDII’s words. This mechanism may be unconstitutional and will undoubtedly have a censorship effect on users’ free expression. ”

Other issues are that removing it will incentivize automatic filters, which can cause markings of legal content and can pose a danger to end-to-end encryption (no one can read messages other than those who send and receive it). If the platform does not see messages that may violate the bill, it may not be able to comply with the bill and is concerned that the platform will abandon encryption.

These groups call for amendments to the Act to address these issues. Nevertheless, the House is expected to vote on the bill soon.
