The threat to Tiktok workers can be traced back to La Man; the deadlock follows

Police arrested a 33-year-old Hawthorne man in connection with a series of online threats targeting the Tiktok Culver City headquarters.

The Culver City Police Department said Tiktok employees were threatened on social media on Friday, prompting a safe evacuation of Bristol Avenue locations.

Police threats to Joseph Mayuyo have tracked the Hawthorne home on Saturday, but he posed more threats online and announced that he would not be alive, a police press release said.

Police said crisis negotiators spent 90 minutes talking to him before he walked outside to surrender. He was charged with a criminal threat.

It is not clear from the release whether Mayuyo has any contact with the social media company.
