Plane crashes into truck near airport outside Fort Worth, killing two: report
A plane reportedly crashed into an airport near Tarrant County, Texas, on Sunday, killing two people.
The Fort Worth Fire Department told Fox 4 News that emergency crews found at least two people dead after a plane crashed near Hicks Airport. Officials told CBS Texas that the plane struck an 18-wheel truck and trailer and that the fire was under control.
Video from CBS Texas showed smoke rising into the air as firefighters battled flames at the scene.
Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office told independent A plane crash occurred, but no further details were given.
An unnamed witness told WFAA they were working at a nearby cafe when they heard a loud bang and a customer ran in and asked them to call 911. When they ran outside, they saw what appeared to be a plane hitting a parked truck.

Another witness, Lauren Anderson, said new york times She saw a “huge cloud of black smoke” that appeared to be 100 feet across. When crews responded and the smoke cleared, Anderson said “it looked like nothing happened.”
“There’s probably about a 20, 30-minute window where there’s just non-stop emergency vehicles,” she told the outlet.
Hicks Airport is a private airport located approximately 16 miles northwest of Fort Worth, Texas. It is located next to the business lane of U.S. Route 287, which is blocked in both directions.
