Fever player Caitlin Clark to compete in LPGA Annika Pro-Am

BELLAIRE, Fla. — Caitlin Clark will be back on the court — on the golf course, not the basketball court.

Clark, whose second season in the WNBA ended prematurely due to a series of injuries, will return to the Pro-Am next month on the LPGA Tour in Annika.

“I had a great time at Annika last November and competed in the Pro-Am with two of the best players in the business, Nelly Korda and Annika Sorenstam,” said Clark.

The Pro-Am will be held on November 12 at Pelican Golf Club and is open to the public. Clark, who just finished her first season in the WNBA and was the Rookie of the Year, drew big crowds and buzz last year.

Annika is the penultimate event on the LPGA schedule. Clark has a corporate relationship with major sponsor Gainbridge Insurance.

Clark’s second WNBA season was slowed by injuries. She played in only 13 games and missed the remainder of the season with a groin injury on September 4. The Indiana Fever made the playoffs again but were eliminated in the semifinals by the Las Vegas Aces.
