Then, Rita ran to tell her boss EJ that the little reporter Leo was lurking in places where he shouldn’t be, looking around.

Leo could clearly see that this was not a medical storage area, as he had been told when he broke in to rescue Gwen during the blackout.

I knew Leo was asking for trouble when he decided to go back to the hard hat area again. Of course, Rita wasn’t fooled by the AirPod cover story. Now, EJ is gone, ordering Gwen and her ex-best friend Leo (aka Marty) to get along. EJ wants Gwen to find out what Leo was doing in the lab and convince him to stay out of their business.

With EJ and Gwen plotting this super sketchy science project, I think everyone in Salem who finds out about it should be very, very scared. DiMera and Mad Science together equal trouble. So Leo’s hunch that EJ was using the space for dastardly behavior was correct. But discovering this could cost him, possibly his life.

Leo was also surprised when Gwen came to the audience as ordered by EJ and behaved herself. Gwen initially tried to fight back. But EJ disagrees and forces her to follow his orders. Gwen even calls her ex-bestie by her old nickname, calling him Marty. Leo was happy to hear Gwen call him that nickname because he hoped it meant she wouldn’t hate him for sleeping with her husband, Dimitri von Leuschner DiMera (Peter Porter), or at least not forever.

I also wonder if EJ will also send Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord) to work and have her guide Leo out of the safe room, because according to the official day spoilers, EJ has something he wants from Cat this week. EJ may ask his assistant Cat to show nosy Leo key parts of the clinic to distract him from his reporter’s coverage. Like, “Oh, here you can tour the rest of the entire facility. That thing is just a storage room. Don’t worry.”

Cat may also be asked to keep an eye on Leo and report it to EJ if she sees him wandering where he shouldn’t be or asking hospital staff nosy questions. As you know, Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) is the hospital’s public relations representative. EJ needs all the help he can get from Leo.

But I don’t know if Stephanie can dissuade him. EJ and Stephanie both gave their own talking points about the hospital’s role in the blackout. If you recall, EJ’s sketchy electrician was the one who caused the outage, but he then blamed it on Salem’s aging electrical infrastructure. EJ actually threatens to tell everyone that it’s Paulina Price’s (Jackie Haley) fault for leaving the grid running without proper maintenance or something.

Cat’s job as an undercover ISA would be much easier if she could help Leo get out of the room. Cat can’t let Leo get in the way of her and Rafe Hernandez’s (Galen Gerin) investigation. If Carter plays her cards right, she might be able to get some intel of her own from Leo, who is then taken out of the hospital again and banned from going anywhere except to see a doctor.

Also, EJ being so worried about Leo is a red flag for Cat, you know. This may make her want to keep tabs on reporters. So, maybe Leo dug up something that could help Rafe and Cat. If she doesn’t get the goods from Leo, maybe Kate can convince her brother, Dr. Mark Green (Jonah Robinson), to cooperate with the investigation, since he’ll be working in the humble lab.

Now, we know Leo is a little shaken in his stylish boots right now. He has crossed over to DiMera. He knew he was on EJ’s radar. He was right to be afraid. If Gwen or Kate can’t get Leo to back off, then, you know, EJ might be doing some nefarious experiments in that shiny new lab, using Leo as his first test subject. Hopefully Leo will be able to tell Javi Hernandez (Al Calderon) about all his misadventures with Rita and Gwen randomly showing up and inviting him out to dinner.

Leo told Javi, and Leo told Chad what was going on and his suspicions, at least if Leo was indeed missing, then maybe Chad and Javi would realize that maybe EJ had targeted Leo. I’m sure Leo would have survived in the long run even if EJ did catch him. But we can see EJ doing something that caused Leo to go missing during the November sweeps. We’ll find out soon enough.
