Milestone Moment: Lahovich reaches 1,000th game in EIHL

British forward Robert Lachowicz has played 1,000 games in the Elite Hockey League (EIHL) and marked his career, a fact that will remain in the league’s history as the greatest player. Betting fans who follow EIHL action on GG Bate Online betting also calls it one of the greatest events in British hockey history.
Join the EIHL’s 1,000 Game Club
Lahovich is the fourth player in EIHL history to play 1,000 games, joining Matthew Myers, Jonathan Phillips and Mark Richardson. It was a great achievement for the Nottingham striker, whose career has been marked by consistency, professionalism and undying dedication to the game.
The EIHL also held a special ceremony in Lahovich’s honor ahead of Glasgow’s game against the Sheffield Steelers on Sunday morning. Liam Sewell, the league’s director of hockey operations, presented him with a commemorative award and was joined on the ice by his proud family, mum Kath, dad Jan and aunt Jayne.
Looking back on this exciting moment, Lahovich expressed himself this way:
“Honestly, I try to treat Sunday like just another game. It’s a big night for the team to bounce back and this game was never an individual game.”
Even after this milestone, Lahovich remains enthusiastic about the team’s success. This emphasis paid off as the team beat Sheffield 3-2, another great night in his illustrious career.
From Nottingham roots to national recognition
Lahovich began his career in Nottingham where he won the most championships with the team and longest-running EIHL player, the Nottingham Panthers. During his time with the Panthers, Lahovich was a regular on the team and was known as a two-way player, skater and team leader on and off the court.
Under the leadership of Nottingham, he helped the team achieve a series of impressive achievements:
- 1 time EIHL league championship.
 - 7 Challenge Cup wins.
 - 4x playoff championship.

Those wins helped Lahovich become one of the league’s most reliable forwards. He also played in the European Hockey Champions League (CHL) as a rough-and-tumble player in Nottingham. British Hockey’s exposure on an international platform has increased.
Lahovich spent more than 10 years with the Panthers before being sold to the Guilford Flames, where he played a vital role in adding versatility and experience to the team. He also became a member of the Glasgow team in 2023. In off-court time, he often serves as the team leader in the locker room and is also a player on the court.
A celebration of longevity and passion
Robert Lachowicz’s 1,000th game celebration was celebrated throughout the Glasgow franchise, the EIHL and the entire UK hockey community. In and of itself, this is quite an achievement and speaks volumes about his work ethic, loyalty and love for the game.
Lahovich still skates, heads and inspires, and his story is a great reminder of what it really looks like to be dedicated to what you’re doing, as it will become one of the stepping stones in British hockey history.
