She hallucinates and sees an older version of herself, who makes surprising suggestions to avoid a boy named Chad, and even has her number programmed into her younger self’s phone, with the contextual name “My Old Ass.” Of course, Chad walks into her life and our young protagonist must decide whether to accept the wisdom of her past life or trust her feelings and live in the present.

Maddie Zeigler (best known as music) plays her friend who provides the “mushrooms” that lead to the protagonist’s life-changing encounter with her older self. Percy Hynes White (best known outside of this film as Wednesday Meanwhile, the TV series) plays an attractive boy whose future self tries to warn her away from him.

However, it is no surprise that this powerful actor my old ass is Aubrey Plaza (best known as Safety not guaranteed), she injects her unique dry humor into the older version of the protagonist. I’m not surprised that Plaza has a knack for causing trouble; after all, much of her character’s wacky humor matches the quips of her character April Ludgate in “April Ludgate.” parks and recreation. But Plaza does the film’s dramatic elements surprisingly well, as she fully embraces a bittersweet reality that everyone eventually asks themselves: “What advice would you give to your younger self, if you could?”
Fortunately, my old ass It ended up being one of the most popular comedies of the modern era. The film has a score of 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics praising the film for its blend of off-kilter humor and surprisingly serious drama. although my old ass Delivering all the comedy I wanted and more, what made me really fall in love with this movie was how deeply thoughtful it was about what it means to be truly alive. Plaza’s character wants to spare her younger self the pain of growing old, but she’s wise enough in her youth to realize that it’s the trauma of today that shapes the people we’re destined to become. Life is about taking risks, and this movie brilliantly demonstrates that a life without risks is no life at all.
