Tom Bergeron made his long awaited return dancing with the stars Ballroom to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the show.
Bergeron, 70, joins the cast as a guest judge on the Tuesday, Nov. 11 episode of the ABC reality competition series Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough Score the remaining couples’ dances from the judges’ table.
Current host Alfonso Ribeiro The evening kicked off by asking his good friend Bergeron to introduce the show.
“I’d love to, too,” he said shortly before his new co-host Julianne Hough As they walked down the steps to the ballroom, they began to cry. The veteran presenter added: “I’m so happy to be here, it’s such a rush. It’s great to see you, there are a lot of familiar faces in the audience.”
Before taking his seat at the judges’ table, Bergeron revealed his expectations for the remaining contestants.
“We still have a week until the semifinals, so I’m looking for a dance that will give people goosebumps,” he said. “But since I’m sitting next to Bruno, I’m also trying to avoid a concussion.”
Tonioli showed off his signature gesture.
20th Anniversary Edition dancing with the stars Also included is a first-round dance set to iconic freestyle music throughout the show, as well as the first-ever competitive dance performed by a celebrity contestant without a professional partner for bonus points.
As for Bergeron, he hosted dancing with the stars First 28 seasons. Over the years, he has joined co-hosts Lisa Canning In the first season, Samantha Harris From Season 2 to Season 9, Brooke Burke Seasons 10 to 17 and Erin Andrews Seasons 18 to 28.

Bergeron isn’t the only familiar face returning dancing with the stars in its landmark 20th year. Burke, 41, came to the show on Halloween night on October 28 as a guest judge after wrapping up his long career in 2022.

Burke also reflected on her “heartbreaking” exit, calling it “the hardest decision of my life.”
“I mean, I’ve been on that show most of my life, so I think the umbilical cord is still attached,” she explained. “Like, I love this show and I have so many great memories and it changed my life. It helped me find my voice and, like, when I look back on my audition, it’s just crazy. I would say I’m the woman I am today because of this show and I’m grateful to be asked and bring another perspective.”
