Even the cast of Randleman couldn’t control their laughter while filming a family dinner scene with Billy Bob Thornton (Tommy Norris) and Ali Larter (Angela Norris). “The editors really helped us a lot with that,” Jacob Lofland, who plays Cooper Norris, told Us Weekly exclusively ahead of the season 2 premiere on Sunday, November 16. The Sunday, November 23, episode titled “Sins of the Father” follows Tommy taking his son Cooper to visit his grandfather TL (Sam Elliott). There was a lot of interaction between the three Norris generations, leading to Tommy and Cooper having a heart-to-heart in the car.

“You know, I’d better just spend time with you on the weekends. I haven’t had a son since I was a kid,” Tommy began. “All your grandfather did was make himself a cripple on the rig. Come home drunk to deal with my fucking tornado of burnt-out mother. Then come up to my room and try to beat the shit out of me.”

Cooper tells Tommy that he “broke the cycle” in their family. “I love you, Dad,” he added. “You did your best, and your best is enough for me.”

Both men were visibly choked up, but did not discuss the topic further.

Elliot, 81, plays Tommy’s father in the second season of the Paramount+ series.

There isn’t much news yet about the gruff retired oil worker, but it seems like there’s still a lot to come as the Norris family continues to reunite on screen.

“He really is the sweetest guy. I’m so lucky to work with him.” Michelle RandolphThe man who played Tommy’s daughter Ainsley told us. “It’s been interesting for Ainsley to learn more about her father because he’s been a mystery to her in a lot of ways. I think this season, [TL] Entering this family gave her more insights [into] Why is he like this. “

Elliott wasn’t necessarily on set giving advice to his young co-stars, but they couldn’t help but watch him work.

“That’s what they proved [when] They showed up. You see that firsthand and say, “This is what I want to do.” “That’s where teaching comes in,” Lofland explained, “and I think it’s the best teaching you can get.”

Randolph said working with Elliott and Thornton, Demi Moore (Kami Miller) and Ali Larter (Angela Norris) “encouraged” her as an actress.

“I don’t think any of them believe how incredible they are. They’re so humble,” she explained. “They’ve been in this business for so long, and they just give you that confidence in yourself, and that’s what you need to perform when you’re working with a legend that you’ve been watching your whole life. That’s why they’re so good.”
