Biggest Thanksgiving Parade Incident in Years

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade isn’t always smooth sailing every year.
The world’s largest parade originally started in 1924 and has become the go-to viewing event on Türkiye Day. From giant balloons to musical performances, there’s something for everyone in the family to enjoy before Thanksgiving dinner.
The parade began with Macy’s employees walking to the store’s first location in Herald Square. This tradition was suspended from 1942 to 1944 due to the need for helium and rubber during World War II, forcing the event to be suspended.
Since 1952, NBC broadcasts have been available to households across the United States. But with live television, some live broadcast errors can occur, such as injuries and balloon malfunctions.
