There are few awards that Rafael Nadal did not win personally during his time as a professional tennis player on the ATP Tour. But off the court, he is absolutely no slouch either.
The accolades and recognition just keep coming for the former PIF ATP No. 1 player.
La Liga football club RCD Mallorca released the latest news on Saturday. The Bermeron team against Osasuna awarded Nadal the “Dimoni Honorable Mention”.
The 22-time major champion is the first recipient of the award, which recognizes the excellence and values of the people of the Balearic Islands who have had an impact and contribution to society.
According to RCD Mallorca: “The club wishes to publicly recognize the career of a Mallorcan tennis player, a global star whose legacy transcends his sport. His spirit of determination, his commitment, his humility and his extraordinary career have made him a figure admired around the world. He is the pride of Mallorca and Spain.”
