Amy Schumer praises Chris Fisher for support ahead of divorce announcement

Amy Schumer to her now estranged husband, Chris Fishera shout-out on social media before announcing their split.

Kris found it,” Schumer, 44, captioned an Instagram video on Friday, December 12, of her having 2021 endometriosis surgery. “I’ve been through a lot of pain with endometriosis. In the throwback footage, Fisher, now 45, filmed Schumer waking up from anesthesia.

“We sat at the bar and had a few drinks,” she said groggily, appearing to be asleep. “We just had a lot of fun.”

More than an hour later, Schumer confirmed her divorce from Fisher.

“Blah blah blah, Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage after seven years. We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son,” a second post on Friday read. “We ask that people respect our privacy at this time.”

“It’s the morning after my endometriosis surgery and my uterus is out,” she said in an Instagram video after her 2021 surgery. “The doctor found 30 areas of endometriosis and removed it. He removed my appendix because the endometriosis had invaded it.”

Schumer continued at the time, “There was lots and lots of blood in my uterus, you know, I was in pain, and I was having some, like gas pains. But, other than that, I already felt like my energy was [returning]”.

Schumer even kept a memento of her surgery after she recovered.

“Jason [Bateman] One time, very rudely, he asked me, because my uterus was actually removed, “Did you save it?” “I was like, ‘I actually did save it,'” Schumer said in a 2024 episode of the “Smartless” podcast when she detailed her hysterectomy. “You know, I bronzed it because of how difficult my pregnancy was.”
