‘Avengers: Doomsday’ trailer released, confirming every Marvel fan’s worst fears

Marvel Studios goes big on hype in its first trailer Avengers: Doomsdaywhich will premiere ahead of James Cameron’s upcoming film Avatar: Fire and Ashes. However, a trailer recently leaked online, and it focuses entirely on the return of favorite Steve Rogers.
Chris Evans is reportedly set to star in the highly anticipated movie, but that’s actually a bad sign: It’s a sign that Marvel has officially run out of ideas, and the big plan to save their brand from superhero fatigue is to pit Steve Rogers against Tony Stark in a movie that should be called a “movie.” Captain America: Civil War 2.
Somehow the civil war is back

first one Avengers: Doomsday The trailer (which we can’t show you here until the official release) isn’t all that impressive. You see Steve Rogers getting off his motorcycle at home, holding a baby (presumably his and Peggy Carter’s son) and staring at his old superhero suit. The trailer ends with the promise that “Steve Rogers will return.” Avengers: Doomsday“.
According to reliable scooper Daniel Richtman, the first trailer focuses on Steve for the simple reason that he will be the main protagonist of the film; this fits in with old rumors that Tony Stark’s Doctor Doom is hunting Steve, as the former Captain America was stuck in the past at the end of the story, altering the timeline. Avengers: Endgame.
Of course, all of this makes sense from a cynical marketing perspective: One reason for the superhero fatigue plaguing Marvel is that audiences don’t take to newer heroes like Mister Fantastic or Anthony Mackie’s Captain America as much as they did the original Avengers. So bringing back the core cast of The Avengers is a big part of endFor the marketing, they even had Robert Downey Jr. return as a new character. While audiences may want to see him and Chris Evans on screen together again, I don’t think fans will be that excited about a movie whose basic plot is a lame retread. Captain America: Civil War.
Bringing on cameos and strange new lore

although civil war This is a solid Marvel movie that will be remembered primarily for two things: the drawn-out airport brawl between the various heroes, and the drawn-out fight between Captain America and Iron Man at the end. Previously, marketing Avengers: Doomsday The main emphasis is on its crowded cast of characters, including popular MCU mainstays like Loki, Bucky, and Thor, and fan-favorite X-Men from 20th Century Fox movies like Beast, Magneto, and Professor X. Implicitly, the film promises that we’ll see a lot of fighting and teamwork with characters who otherwise rarely interact, e.g. Captain America: Civil War The scale is much larger.
civil war It was also revealed that Tony Stark’s parents were killed while Bucky was serving as the Winter Soldier. The revelation soured relations between Captain America and Iron Man, which were already soured as the heroes took different stances on superhero registration. Of course, all of this is a complication that pits former friends Steve Rogers and Tony Stark against each other.
The end of Marvel Studios

Now, that’s it Avengers: Doomsday It feels like a carbon copy. We’re getting a fast-paced story and a massive multiverse crossover event so that two people who cried to each other in 2016 can cry to each other again in 2026, with a rival team of familiar favorites. At best, it’s just a worse version of the big-screen fights we’ve already seen; at worst, this gamble could actually sink the Marvel Universe when the public realizes that Marvel’s new big movie is simply built on recycled ideas.
Of course, when you can’t create new ideas, you have to recycle old ones, which is where the Marvel Cinematic Universe is right now. As an old school fan I’m happy to err on the side of here and I sincerely hope Avengers: Doomsday is a worthy endgame The sequel shocked us all. But judging by the tepid online reaction to the leaked trailer and its Steve Rogers deal, it appears Marvel will be wiping out its cultural legacy faster than Robert Downey Jr.’s new character can say “I’m not Iron Man.”
